505th Parachute Infantry Regiment

Wurst, Spencer F. (1924–2015) – American paratrooper and decorated WWII veteran of the 505th PIR, 82nd Airborne Division. Fought in Normandy, Holland, and the Ardennes; later rose to Colonel in the National Guard. Author of Descending from the Clouds (2004). Inducted into the OCS Hall of Fame and awarded the Legion of Honor.
